Who We Are

A place to slow down & make sense of it all

Many parents come here feeling flooded by advice. They read the blogs, listen to family, scroll through tips โ€” and still, things feel hard at home.

The behaviors are confusing. The guilt creeps in. They start wondering if they're doing something wrong.

If that sounds familiar, you are not alone.

Raising Littles was created to give parents a calmer place to land โ€” a space to slow down, talk honestly, and make sense of your child without being judged or told you need to do more.

"I am proud of myself for working hard to be the parent my child needs."

This work is aboutโ€ฆ

Understanding your child โ€” making sense of their behaviors, not just managing them.

Understanding yourself โ€” your reactions, your history, and what you bring to parenting.

Connection and clear limits โ€” building a relationship that feels steady and supportive.

Realistic expectations โ€” for real families living real lives, not textbook ideals.

No quick fixes or rigid rules โ€” just thoughtful, personalized support.

Dr. Aliza Grodko, PsyD

"I'm an early childhood psychologist who fell in love with infancy and early childhood work because small changes early on can make a big difference in how children grow, feel, and connect."

Over the past decade, I've had the privilege of working with hundreds of families navigating the very real ups and downs of raising young kids. I'm also a parent myself, which has only deepened my respect for how complex and exhausting this stage can be. (Young children are wonderful, but they definitely keep us humble.)

My goal is to help parents better understand their child and feel more confident in how they respond, so home can feel a little calmer and everyone can breathe a bit easier.

Professionally, my work has spanned community, pediatric, and behavioral health settings. I spent seven years in pediatrics at Montefiore Medical Group and have since led the infancy and early childhood program at Premium Health Center.

I hold a certification in Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C) and am endorsed as an Infant Mental Health Specialist through the NJ Association for Infant Mental Health. I also supervise clinicians in this important work.

My Philosophy

Children grow through connection. Parents grow through support.

Young children are still learning how to manage their big feelings. Their brains are developing, and they often communicate through behavior rather than words. Meltdowns, clinginess, and big reactions are usually a child's way of saying, "I need help."

A big part of my work is helping parents slow down and understand what their child is really communicating. When parents respond with connection and confidence, children begin to feel safer and more capable.

This work is also about supporting parents. No one gets it right all the time โ€” and that's okay. My goal is to help you feel more calm, more confident, and more able to show up for your child.

Connection First

Behavior is communication. Understanding what your child is expressing changes everything.

Clear Limits

Boundaries aren't the opposite of warmth โ€” they're part of what makes children feel safe.

Parent Support

When parents feel supported, children's mental health is strengthened too.

Real Families

No rigid rules or one-size-fits-all plans. Everything is tailored to your child and your life.
